Pollinator Advocacy

Pollinators play such a critical role in our ecosystem. Honey bees in particular pollinate one out of three bites of food. And yet they are under pressure from a variety of sources: climate change, loss of forage, pesticide poisoning, and pathogens. A big part of Garfield Honey’s mission is to raise aware of pollinator issues and work to address them. We speak publicly in-person and thru social media to accomplish this. We also work with our apirary (beeyeard) property-owner partners to increase the amount of forage and reduce the affects of pesticides on our bees and other pollinators. In part, we do this by connecting these land owners with resources such The Bee and Butterfly Fund. Given all that the bees do for us, we all must advocate on their behalf!
